About Another Planet Entertainment

Another Planet Entertainment, LLC (Another Planet) was created on July 18, 2003 when Gregg W. Perloff, President/CEO of Bill Graham Presents, left to build his own company. Shortly thereafter he was joined by longtime colleagues at Bill Graham Presents Sherry Wasserman, former Senior VP and Head of Concert Production at BGP, and Steve Welkom, former Senior VP of Administration and Business Development for BGP. In November of that year, Allen Scott and his concert promotion company, Mystery Machine Productions merged with APE, solidifying the company's foundation.

On August 16, 2003, Another Planet, in a collaborative effort with Giants Enterprises, presented its first concert featuring Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band at Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco. Another Planet was selected soon after by Dave Matthews Band to produce and promote its major outdoor benefit concert at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on September 12, 2004.

Another Planet is the exclusive promoter for the Greek Theatre, an 8,500 capacity outdoor amphitheatre in Berkeley, the Fox Theater in Oakland, the 2,800 capacity venue, The Independent, a 500 capacity nightclub in San Francisco, and the 8,000 capacity Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys. In 2010, APE was honored to be awarded the exclusive contract to operate the historic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, a flexible capacity multi-use event and concert space that holds up to 8,500. Another Planet has also successfully produced two major festivals in San Francisco – Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival (beginning in 2008) and Treasure Island Music Festival (beginning in 2007).

Since its inception in 2003, Another Planet Entertainment has been honored by a vote of its concert industry peers for a total of 14 nominations and 4 wins in the following Pollstar Award categories: Promoter of the Year, Independent Promoter of the Year, Theater of the Year (Fox Theater), Best New Major Concert Venue (Fox Theater), Nightclub Talent Buyer of the Year (Allen Scott) and Most Creative Stage Production (Star Wars: In Concert). APE was named "Best Cultural Improvement" and the Fox Theater as "Best Venue" by the East Bay Express (2009); Outside Lands was named "Best Music Fest" by SF Weekly (2009); Treasure Island was named "Best Music Fest" by SF Weekly (2008).

Another Planet Entertainment has also produced a number of special projects and tours over the years. In 2006, Another Planet presented the Northern California debut of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition featuring more than 300 authentic artifacts from the luxury liner. This blockbuster exhibit resided at the Metreon in San Francisco for an eight month run. In 2007 and 2009, Another Planet in conjunction with Bay Area Productions produced the highly successful national tour for Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx.

In 2009, Another Planet Touring in association with Lucasfilm Ltd. teamed up to produce Star Wars: In Concert. The production is directed and designed by Steve Cohen. Star Wars: In Concert had its world premiere at the 02 Arena in London on April 10 and 11, 2009. The production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, HD LED super-screen - one of the largest ever put on tour. The live music and film elements are synchronized, creating a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience. The production has since toured the U.S. and Europe throughout 2009 and 2010 and in an exclusive appearance, sold out 2 Hollywood Bowl shows in 2011.

Another Planet Entertainment has produced over 3,000 events with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Neil Young, Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Muse, Robert Plant, Phish, Elton John, Pearl Jam, Kenny Chesney, The White Stripes, Sugarland, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Simon & Garfunkel.
